This was my first attempt at using gif files in an artwork. It developed out of the panoramic collages I had been experimenting with, where the form, a series of replicated images divided by simple white space, suggested to me rhythm, like the frames in a cartoon strip. I wanted to combine still elements with strips of motion, as a way of adding a second level of rhythm.
